Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers care for people who are facing a variety of crises or life challenges, such as, pain, fear, sadness, a change, a loss, a difficult situation, an illness, a hard decision, a personal crisis, or another turning point in their life.

Stephen Ministry is…
A one-to-one confidential ministry by lay persons who have completed extensive training.
A relationship which focuses on the needs of the individual who asks for a Stephen Minister.
Based on a proven system of training and peer support with one intention: to deliver high quality Christian care to those in need.

A Stephen Minister is…

  • A caring listener
  • Christ-centered, compassionate, full of faith, skilled and trustworthy
  • Commissioned by our congregation.

Care Receivers come into the care of a Stephen Minister at their own request or after agreeing to have a Stephen Minister following referral by a pastor or another person who cares about them.
Stephen Ministers and Care Receivers are carefully matched by the Stephen Ministry Referrals Coordinator, who first speaks with the potential Care Receiver before proceeding to match her or him with a Stephen Minister.

Do you need a CCB Stephen Minister?  Make a confidential request by contacting Rev. Louise Ott at 248-646-4511 or contacting her at REVLRO@aol.com

Questions about becoming a Stephen Minister can be answered by Rev. Wilson, a Stephen Leader or any Stephen Minister.  Look for them at worship.  They wear blue and white name badges
